Sheffield-based manufacturing company Birley has appointed two new members of staff as it continues to build on its success in key markets across the UK.
Ian Stapleton, 52, joins the firm as an Estimator.
He will be estimating costs across all clients, predominantly on the joinery side of the business. Ian has previously worked as a self- employed contractor as well as for several carpentry companies in the area.
He currently lives in Rotherham, although he was born in Sheffield, and enjoys clay pigeon shooting and golf in his free time.
Also joining the team at Birley is Carl Stafford, 46, from Sheffield.
Carl is a Quantity Surveyor and will be working on a variety of client projects across all market sectors, including Waitrose, Tesco, Morrisons, HSBC and Royal Bank of Scotland.
He has previously worked for several major construction firms as a quantity surveyor on social housing and shop-fitting projects. Carl still lives locally and enjoys tinkering with his classic MG car and the odd round of golf.
Birley’s managing director Steve English said:
“These two new appointments are part of Birley’s ongoing development and growth in both traditional and new markets.
“We are delighted to welcome both Ian and Carl on board.
“Offering a high standard of client servicing is very important at Birley and enhancing our team with highly competent people like Ian and Carl ensures we can do this to the best of our ability.”
Birley Manufacturing is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers for interior environments and rail carriage equipment and works with some of the UK’s top names, such as Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, NatWest and First Great Western Trains.
