Space hopper business slalom planned for Sport Relief

Barnsley businesses are being urged to get active and dig deep at a fun-filled day for today’s 2014.

Sporting and fitness organisation is hosting a sporting extravaganza packed with winter Olympic themed games.

The event, which is in aid of Sport Relief includes indoor curling, a space hopper slalom and an “ice hockey” shoot-out using beanbags and nets.

Local businesses are being encouraged to use the event as an opportunity to promote an active workforce, as well as to raise money for a worthwhile cause.

Sport Relief this year is encouraging the public to run, swim or cycle. Held once every two years, Sport Relief is a event from Comic Relief, in association with BBC Sport.

It combines the worlds of sport and entertainment in a bid to raise money to help vulnerable people in both the and third world countries.

Each Team Activ event will help to populate a league spurring the businesses to give it their all in a bid to finish top.

Team Activ founder said:

“This is a brilliant opportunity for local businesses to bring their team down, get them active, have some fun and use it as a team building activity.

“The fact it’s helping to raise money for a very good cause is a brilliant bonus. I look forward to seeing all the businesses battle it out to be number one in the leagues.”

Today’s event will be held at the Digital , County Way, Barnsley from 10am to 4pm.

Each activity will cost just £1 to enter, with all proceeds going straight to the charity.
