St Modwen completes 15 year lease for Dunelm

UK regeneration specialist St Modwen has completed a 15 year lease for the recently opened Dunelm store at Wheatley Hall Road in Doncaster, with the major home furnishings retailer.

Subsequently, St Modwen has successfully completed the sale of the 40,000sq ft retail facility to an undisclosed purchaser.

The sale marks a key milestone in the redevelopment of the 13 acre site, formerly occupied by Tyco Electronics.

The Dunelm store, along with a newly opened family friendly Marston’s public house, is part of St Modwen’s plan to bring important investment and jobs, as well as much-needed recreational facilities to the local area.

Richard Bannister, development manager at St Modwen, said:

“The completion of the lease and subsequent investment sale clearly demonstrates that, even set against challenging market conditions, the right product with the right occupier secured will attract investors.

“We worked closely with Dunelm to ensure their new retail facility fulfilled all their requirements and we are delighted that the redevelopment of this prominent site is attracting important investment to the region and creating job opportunities for the local community.

“We expect to announce further progress shortly.”
