The owner and a team of three stylists from a Harogate hair salon have made the finals of two of the UK hairdressing industry’s most prestigious competitions.
Joseph Ferraro, who owns Halo Hair and Beauty, is a finalist for the second year running in the 2014 Hair Awards.
And three of his stylists, Nicola Rayner, Natalie Garcia Sanz and Kirstie Bowdin, have won places in the regional finals of the Wella Trend Vision Awards being held in Manchester in May.
Joseph, who was made a Fellow with Honours by the Fellowship for British Hairdressing last year, is delighted by his team’s success.
“I feel very proud of Kirstie, Nicola and Natalie and their achievements.
“Wella Trend Vision is the hair industry’s leading colour contest.
“Competition is very tough and they have done incredibly well to make it through to the regional finals.”
The three will travel to Manchester next month to present their work in front of a team of judges who will pick a handful of regional stylists to compete in national finals in London in October.
Meanwhile Joseph’s styling skills will be scrutinized by a team including some of the UK’s best-known hairdressing judges, Nicky Clarke, Andrew Barton and Lee Stafford, who will pick the winner of the Hair Awards Salon Stylist 2014 title in May.
“I was delighted to be a finalist last year in the Salon Stylist category of the Hair Awards.
“They have a great reputation within the hairdressing industry so to make the shortlist of finalists is a real achievement.
“I am overjoyed to have made the final shortlist again this year and am hoping this year that I’ll go one better, and take the title.
Halo Hair and Beauty is recognized as one of the leading independent hairdressing salons in the district.
Joseph, twice North Eastern Hairdresser of the Year finalist, is a regular at London Fashion Week and, along with his team, present at many of the hairdressing industry’s biggest live events, including Salon Professional and Pro Hair Live.
