Dentists walk to the rescue

A Wakefield dental team are leaving the comfort of their surgery behind and heading for the hills to raise cash for one of Yorkshire’s most popular lifesavers.
The team of clinicians, nurses and reception staff from St Michael’s Orthodontics, Dewsbury Road, walked eight miles around Knaresborough in aid of the Yorkshire Air Amublance.
Each year the team has a sponsored walk and chooses a charity, close to the heart of one of the team, as beneficiary.
This year’s choice, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance was nominated by Sarah, following the amazing work they did rescuing her friends & family in a road traffic accident last year.
Orthodontist Catherine McCanny Hendron said:
“The Yorkshire Air Ambulance was instrumental in helping rescuing the girls on the bus.
“We thought it would be a nice tribute and way of recognising their efforts.
“Last year we raised more than £650 for Wakefield Hospice and already generous patients and partners have pledged money.
“It is a great team building day too, it takes us all out of our confort zones and challenges each us one of us in so may different ways and no matter what the weather is like we always have a good time.”
“Our target is £500. To make a donation visit http://www.justgiving.com/St-Michaels-Orthodontics-Ltd3.”
