Costcutter retailer donates £1,500 to Barnsley Hospice

Retailer Ron Ford – who runs five Costcutter stores in Barnsley – is donating £1,500 to Barnsley Hospice.

Ron is making the donation from Costcutter’s Local Pride initiative which raises money through the sale of specific products in-store.

Ron, who runs the business with his wife Yvonne and children Adam and Robyn, said:

“The hospice does such good work for the people of Barnsley and it’s nice to be able to give something back.”

Last year, Adam and Robyn raised £1,200 for Barnsley Hospice after taking part in a sponsored parachute jump.

The Fords have been with Costcutter for 11 years and employ 40 staff across the five stores. His Pogmoor Road store is just half a mile away from the hospice.

Vicky Stead, Barnsley Hospice fundraiser said:

“We are very grateful to Ron and his family.

“They have supported Barnsley Hospice for a number of years and it is great to see a local family and business supporting the hospice in this way.

“We are thrilled that they chose to help Barnsley Hospice and their support means we can help more patients and their families.”
