Three Sheffield businesswomen have launched a new networking group they are calling Network2network, in the city at lunchtimes.
This group offers places for small business professionals who want to be a part of a supportive business group with no membership fees, where they can pay as they go.
Regular networker Janet Thornton, who has 20 years’ experience in recruitment, is now developing her new bespoke cake and teatime treats business together with business woman Sue Ford from Core Finance.
Supporting the pair is Claire Else from Partytogo, who brought her candy cart along to showcase her sweet treats.
Together they had a capacity crowd of 47 businesses at their launch event, held at the Toby Carvery, Parkhead Ecclesall Road South.
“The guests loved it and can’t wait for the next event on 13 August- and they all went home with a little bag of sweets or cake made by Janet.
Research shows that only two per cent of UK small businesses network, even though networking has been proved to be a fantastic way of promoting your business to like-minded professionals and creating a supportive network for men and women who often work alone.
The Sheffield Lunchtime group will meet every second Wednesday of the month at the Toby Carvery and the group has a lunch time meeting in Mansfield every third week.
Due to demand, they will be launching a Worksop group in August.
