Accountancy firm’s record growth fuels further expansion

Russell Smith Chartered Accountants has expanded to larger offices in the Round Foundry after securing a raft of new clients, posting unprecedented turnover – and boosting its team by 44 per cent in the last 12 months.

The 13-strong team, which has moved to 580 by 302 sq ft premises, works with clients spanning creative, IT and digital sectors.

Founded in 2007 by Russell Smith, 37, and initially operating from a small office with a team of four, the combined turnover of the firm’s top 20 clients’ is £50 million. 

Turnover has risen by 77 per cent from £262,000 in 2011 to £463,000 in 2014 – with profit margins doubling against a brutal financial backdrop.
