Free stands up for grabs for good causes at business exhibition

Five good causes are being given the chance to exhibit to an audience of more than 1,500 people at one of the Sheffield City Region’s biggest business events.

SheffEX, which is returning to Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, in Sheffield, on Monday 1 December, is running a competition to give away five free exhibition stands to local charities, social enterprises or charitable organisations.

Sheffield’s first one-day business networking event in June attracted exhibitors and delegates from across the city region and the wider Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire areas.

Tony Carroll, one of the event’s organisers, said: “Attendance as a delegate is free to all employees and volunteers from charities, social enterprises and community groups, but we want to offer a little more support the local organisations which do great work in and around South Yorkshire.

“It’s about encouraging good causes and businesses to find new ways of working together in partnerships that are mutually beneficial.

“More than 100 exhibitors are expected at SheffEX 2 and the successful good causes will have the opportunity to network and explain how their organisation makes a difference in the South Yorkshire region.

“Any organisation or group, small or large, with local roots can apply and it isn’t necessary to be a registered charity.”

To apply, organisations need to register for SheffEX and write a pitch to the organisers outlining who they are and why exhibiting at the event will benefit them.

Applications must also include approximate annual expenditure and income and contact details.

The deadline for applications, which should be submitted by email to goodcauses@sheffex.com, is 31 October 2014. For more information visit www.sheffex.com.
