You’re hired – Apprenticeship Guide publisher takes on first apprentice

Barker Brooks Communications, the Harrogate-based publisher of The Apprenticeship Guide, is looking for an apprentice to join its sales team and sell the Apprenticeship Guide.

Completion of the apprenticeship will lead to a Level 2 qualification in sales, equivalent to five GCSEs at grades A–C.

“We are really excited about taking on our first apprentice,” said Barker Brooks’ chair Les Charneca.

“As publishers of the leading resource for anyone looking to find out more about what an apprenticeship might involve, it makes perfect sense for us to take on an apprentice of our own.”

The Apprenticeship Guide is the most comprehensive source of information on apprenticeships currently in print.

A companion website gives online access to useful information about apprenticeships, direct links to employers and training providers and lots more. Peter Jones CBE, chef Raymond Blanc, the Government’s apprenticeship ambassador Jason Holt and Sajid Javid MP are just a few of the big names who have already lent their voice to the Apprenticeship Guide.

The groundbreaking Apprenticeship Guide iPhone app was launched in 2013 by Minister of State for Business and Enterprise Matthew Hancock MP and local MP Andrew Jones.

This free app is rated 4+ and provides a fast, fun and convenient way to access the world of apprenticeships, at home, at school or on the move.

“The Apprenticeship Guide is a brilliant one-stop introduction to the massive breadth of schemes on offer, and I congratulate Barker Brooks on the development of their mobile app. This is an important step for the smartphone generation,” said Matthew Hancock.
