A Sheffield company is celebrating its fifth anniversary having been founded in 2009 by director Kate Krachai.
Quality Context, which is based in Sheffield City Centre, was founded by Kate following the birth of her child, initially on her own and shortly after supported by a team of two.
The company develops and implements integrated Quality Management Systems and Quality Solutions to improve regulatory compliance within the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry.
Reflecting on the company’s success Kate said: “I am delighted to see Quality Context go from strength to strength over the past five years.
“We are proud to be a Sheffield business that operates worldwide. Some of the biggest brands in the world and many well-known household products pass through our laboratory and I am thrilled we are celebrating five successful years, seeing our turnover increase year on year.
“The future looks extremely positive for the business and our staffs’ commitment and dedication to the company will ensure that we will continue to grow for the foreseeable future.”
Since Kate set up the business, Quality Context has seen turnover increase from £77,000 in year one to now operating at over £1 million per year.
Staffing numbers have increased from one to 18, with plans to hire up to an additional ten employees within the next year, creating more local jobs.
As part of the business’s growth plan they invested more than £300,000 in opening a brand new state-of-the art laboratory last year, located at the Bioincubator at the University of Sheffield.
This reflects that commercial and academic research can work hand in hand.
Quality Context is committed to supporting education through academic research, providing placements for students, apprenticeships, work experience opportunities and hiring recent graduates.
