Richmondshire businesses have say on council services

Richmondshire businesses are being asked to have a say on the service provided to them by the district council’s Environmental Health team.

The team is undertaking a survey to find out what services the team should deliver and which are valued to provide extra business support.

The service is responsible for regulatory action in relation to food hygiene, health and safety, private sector housing, environmental protection and many other services that affect businesses.

And the authority’s ‘Business Friendly’ scheme has been developed and is being delivered in order to improve the way it works with businesses.

“Economic growth is one of the Council’s top priorities,” said Callum McKeon, Corporate Director.  “We want rural areas to be able to contribute to and benefit from this growth, especially those in the catering, retailing, leisure and holiday accommodation sectors.

“The Environmental Health team wants to improve the way it works to help businesses to flourish whilst ensuring the public and workers are safe, consumers are confident and the reputation of Richmondshire is protected.”
