Hangar Seven strengthens retail marketing crew in Leeds office

Content creation house, Hangar Seven, continues to strengthen its retail marketing team with the appointment of Nicola Blair-Park as group account director.

Nicola has over 20 years experience, both client and agency side, and joins from Publicis Blueprint where she was head of marketing.

The appointment brings new hires in the Hangar Seven Leeds office up to eight in the last six months.

The now 22 strong Leeds team has grown considerably following a series of new business wins, including BHS, George Home, Heritage Bathrooms and Pets at Home’s Ride-away brand, and the expansion of the ASDA account.

It also follows the appointment of Andy Johnson who joined the group earlier this year as Managing Director of Retail Marketing.

Nicola’s career began with Wolff Ollins, the renowned Corporate Identity specialists, and includes time spent in the Brand Marketing team at Sainsbury’s Homebase.

She then returned to the agency world, and became Head of Marketing during her 12 years at Publicis Blueprint.

The broader Hangar Seven business, which celebrates its fifth anniversary this year and has offices in London, Macclesfield and Portugal, has seen 59 per cent growth this year and now work with eight of the top ten UK retailers.

Hangar Seven also announced the acquisition of London based Media Ark last month, to further strengthen its video content division.

Commenting on her appointment Nicola said: “I am really excited by the challenge at Hangar Seven. The business has grown rapidly to become one of the UK’s largest originators of retail content and the ambition and creativity of the business is something that made this an offer too good to refuse.”

Andy Johnson, managing director of Hangar Seven’s retail marketing team said: “Nicola is a real asset and someone who brings a wealth of retail experience to the Leeds team and the broader business.

“She has a real strategic insight into customer behaviour and the challenges that retailers face in today’s market.

“Nicola being the eighth new crew member in Leeds in six months is testament to how quickly the business is growing.

“We are now currently exploring options to relocate the office within the city to ensure we have the space to continue to grow.”
