Final call for local good causes to apply for funding

Green energy and recycling specialist, Leo Group Ltd, is inviting applications from voluntary organisations and good causes working with children and young people to share in thousands of pounds of grants.

Leo Group employs over 420 people across 10 sites in the UK, including its head office in Halifax and Omega Proteins sites in Bradford and Penrith. Leo Group’s Community Fund offers grants of up to £2,500 to support grassroots organisations.

With just over a month until the deadline, charities and good causes wanting to apply for a grant have until Friday, February 27, to complete their application form.

The Community Fund is particularly keen to hear from good causes involved in sporting activities, educational projects, cultural and environmental initiatives, as well as schemes that aim to banish isolation.

Since the initiative was launched in 2011, Leo Group’s Community Fund has awarded much-needed project funding to over 15 organisations.

Leo Group PR and communications manager Melanie Rosser said: “Leo Group is committed to supporting our local communities.

“Our Community Fund gives us a platform to provide local good causes with the funding they need.”

“From previous rounds of grants we know there is no shortage of excellent work being carried out by local charities and grassroots organisations.

“With little over a month until this round of applications closes we are urging people complete an application form for funding.

Melanie can be contacted via e-mail at for an application form and guidelines for making a submission.

The Community Fund forms a key strand of the company’s wider programme of charitable donations, which in the past few years has handed out a record amount of money to good causes – some £250,000.
