Students across the UK could be in full time employment this September as there is time left to apply for npower’s award-winning graduate scheme.
Energy is changing and at npower, graduates experience first-hand the dynamic, fast-paced nature of the industry, which is why an increasing number of graduates are choosing to kick-start their career with the energy company.
npower’s Bespoke programme is designed to ensure graduates experience placements all over the business before choosing a discipline, while other programmes are specialist for those who know what profession they wish to go into.
Becky McVittie, graduate resourcing specialist said, “More than ever before, now is an exciting time to join the energy industry – you only need to watch the news on the run up to the election to see how important it is on the political and current affairs agenda.”
She continued, “As a product of the graduate scheme myself, I can assure any prospective student who’s considering applying that this scheme offers real opportunities for you to make an impact on this business – and industry.”
In Spring 2014, npower’s Graduate scheme won the ‘Business led development’ category from the Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR), which is testament to how the utilities company entrusts its graduate to make a positive impact on the business.
Victoria Buckenham, senior talent and development lead, said, “I’ve worked in a number of corporate companies and I’m astounded by how involved the most senior people in npower are with this scheme. Our graduates have numerous opportunities to showcase their work and talent to our executives, who ask to give one-to-one mentoring.”
But it isn’t all about exposure and networking, as candidates require the training and development in order to take full advantage of these opportunities.
Victoria added: “We have a programme that’s designed to nurture this industry’s future leaders and which fast-tracks candidates on an upwards trajectory in npower. They decide their path and sample the areas of the business they want – all with the support of an agile graduate development team who respond to feedback to shape the scheme.”
The scheme offers an attractive benefits package for those who are successful, including £26,000 starting salary – or from £30,000 for Quantitative Risk – a £2,500 joining bonus, locations across the UK, annual pay increases, professional qualifications in HR or finance (if chosen as a specialism), plus many more.
There are four schemes open for application: Bespoke, Commercial Analyst, Finance and Quantitative Risk.
