Genus Law has announced it is to move to a new city centre location at Marshall’s Mill.

Located in Igloo’s Holbeck Urban Village, the Mill offers further space for the company’s ambitious growth plans. The move is a result of the need for additional office space following the recent acquisition of a boutique employment law firm and additional organic growth.

Previously located at Thorpe Park on the outskirts of Leeds; moving into the heart of the city heralds a further step in the new direction of the company.

Judit Petho, CEO, said: “Genus Law was established to change the nature of the legal industry as we know it today.  We don’t want to be just ‘another modern law firm’. We have grand ambitions and want to be shaping the future of the legal industry.

“We aim to work with our clients to understand their needs and anticipate the kinds of products and services that can best support them.

“Our new office space at Marshall’s Mill allows us the scope to deliver this vision. By growing our team with highly skilled lawyers and business support professionals who understand our vision and share our passion, Genus Law will deliver a legal service like no other on offer in Leeds or Yorkshire.

“Our city centre location will give us the opportunity to embrace the local and regional marketplace and work with growing companies to enable their future aspirations.”

Honor Massarella, director at developer, Igloo, said: “Genus Law is a welcome addition to our neighbourhood that is now home to more than 100 businesses and around 900 people who tell us that they enjoy the benefits of being a part of this creative corner of the city.

“In recent years, we’ve seen an increasing range of business sectors locating here, beyond the creative and digital sectors that HUV is best known for. The area has a really great vibe that combines the energy of fast-growth, creative companies and the relaxed setting of bars and cafes that look onto some of the city’s most beautiful heritage architecture.”

Formed under the SRA-regulated Alternative Business Structure for law practices, Genus Law is a new kind of corporate law firm, structured as a company and not a partnership, established by business people for business people to ensure client focused delivery of legal services to growing companies.
