The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has teamed up with the Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership and the Skills Funding Agency to deliver a pivotal event designed to equip business owners with practical advice and guidance to help drive growth and development.
The aim of the event is to underpin the development of a highly-skilled and motivated workforce. Without key people and key relationships in business, growth and innovation is stagnated and nothing can move forward.
A motivational talk from top speaker and networking expert Rob Brown will help businesses identify the kinds of people they need around them to drive success.
Andrew Flower, South Yorkshire chairman of the FSB, said: “Every successful business owner or entrepreneur will tell you about the importance of building a business dream team. You are only one man or one woman and you definitely can’t do it all on your own.
“You need great people around you to help and advise, to support and sustain, to encourage and motivate, and to share your good and bad times.
“We are very pleased to be working with the Skills Funding Agency and the Local Enterprise Partnership to raise the critical factor of the ‘people element’ in business, which is essential to the economic recovery.
“Whatever businesses need to climb to the next level – whether it’s attracting new talent, re-skilling existing staff, tackling skill shortages or taking on an apprentice – there is practical help and funding available which will be accessible on the day.
“We will make available solutions to help firms reduce costs, increase productivity and improve their bottom line, as well as developing a skilled, qualified and motivated workforce.
“We know that for sole-traders and small businesses, the process can seem time-consuming, and not knowing where to start is a barrier. For those who attend this event we promise to help simplify the steps required to get them on the way to business growth.”
The event is free to attend and will take place at 9am to 1pm on Wednesday 18 February at the Holiday Inn, High Road, Warmsworth, Doncaster, DN4 9UX.
Refreshments and lunch will be provided. Places are limited so registration is essential. Leaders in any business – large or small – can register by emailing email@example.com.
