A Brighouse-based IT reseller is prophesying a much changed face for business technology following an injection of over £1m in funding.
With a prediction that the UK’s less agile service providers will become largely obsolete, the directors of Vapour Media believe the firm is in prime position to facilitate the UK business market’s uptake of cloud-based services and facilitate the growth of the ‘Internet of Things’ (IoT) and ‘anything as a service’.
Dom Waterson, managing director, Tim Mercer, sales director, and Jason Sharp, finance director, founded the business in 2013. In the two years since conception the business now works with 50 partners and has grown revenues significantly, with the trio recently securing more than £1m in funding from backers Finance Yorkshire.
Now, following 24 months of rapid growth, the team is looking to add to its sales and support team through a recruitment drive, accommodating its ambitious growth plans.
With experience spanning two-decades, and a schooling in the development of mobile workforces, growth in deploying ‘anything as a service’ over superfast-fibre into its own private cloud is driving the business’ strategy over the next three years.
Vapour was established to work with telecoms and IT resellers and provide them with access to a private network infrastructure, a choice of network providers and a scalable platform for growth, flexible to the rapidly changing face of technology.
And the secret to Vapour’s early success, say its founders, is testament to the business’ “no baggage” approach and its accommodation of a more ‘switched on’ business customer with changing expectations.
“Unlike our competitors, we have built a technology business without the baggage of legacy systems and processes,” said sales director and the architect of the Vapour private network, Tim Mercer.
“The simplicity of access into our private cloud and the ability for businesses to collaborate across multiple suppliers, and connect to multiple applications, is a compelling proposition and is one of the reasons Vapour has received the backing it has from Finance Yorkshire.
“We are seeing massive growth in a number of areas, but mainly in the ‘cloud’ where there is a growing appetite for both the services and the access needed to access them.
“This is sounding the death knell for traditional technologies and as a progressive company we have listened to the changing needs of the business community.”
As part of its 2015 growth plans, the Brighouse-based operation is recruiting for a number of business development and customer service roles. Anyone interested is urged to contact email@example.com
