A Harrogate charity is boasting a sector first thanks to a unique feature built into its new website.
Those visiting the Avalon Group online can now have a “live chat” to a member of the team, primed to answer questions about its work and services across the North of England.
As part of a wholesale review of its marketing activities, the charity commissioned Harrogate-based Kariba to create a website that was easy to navigate around and one that was fully responsive to whatever device it was being viewed on.
And, in addition, it asked for the ability to communicate in “real time” with visitors who had any queries.
Avalon Group marketing manager James Plummer said: “The team at Kariba have done a fantastic job creating our new website. It is just how I envisaged it would look and feel.
“The site’s live chat function is a first for a social care charity organisation, and I’m delighted to say it is being well used by those wanting to know about us and our work. Thanks to this we are more accessible than ever before.”
Mr Plummer added: “The website is fully ‘responsive’ and it is optimised to give visitors the most user friendly experience. It has a host of images, videos and stories, as well as the key information about who we are and what we do.”
The charity – founded in 1994 and located on Harrogate’s Grove Park Court – provides flexible care, support and companionship for everyday life, as well as housing, learning and employment, supporting a wide range of individuals in Yorkshire, Teesside, The Wirral and Cheshire.
