Leeds shopping centre, The Core, has appointed Denise Jeffery as its new manager as the centre nears the end of its multi-million pound refurbishment project.
Denise will be responsible for the effective running of the centre, tenant liaison and will see The Core through its current stage of growth and development.
She brings 25 years’ experience to the role, including previous management of the St John’s Centre in Leeds.
An active member of Leeds’ retail community, Denise sits on the board of of BACIL (Business Against Crime In Leeds), which works to make the city a safer and better place to live, work and visit.
Commenting on her appointment, Denise said: “My retail career began 25 years ago in this exact location, which was known as the Headrow Centre then, so I’m thrilled to be a part of the future of The Core on this same site at an exciting time for retail in Leeds.”
Nicola Lavelle, property manager at The Core, said: “Denise’s appointment marks the start of a milestone year for The Core, as we reach the end of our refurbishment with plans to launch the brand new food cluster later this year.
“Denise’s knowledge of the Leeds retail market will enable us to truly put The Core on the map as a shopping destination within the city.”
