A celebrity valuer from the BBC’s Antiques Road Show is heading to Doncaster as part of a special weekend of events at Lakeside Village, Doncaster this month (March 28/29).
Henry Sandon, a regular face on the popular BBC show will be setting up stall at the Spring Home and Garden event, to help local residents unearth their hidden treasures.
Cheryl Sadler, centre manager, Lakeside Village, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Henry to Doncaster and cannot wait to see the unusual antiques that people from across the borough have tucked away in their attics.
“Who knows what values Henry will be able to deliver and maybe he’ll uncover a hidden gem worth thousands! There will be one valuation per customer on a first come first served basis so if you have lots of items tucked away you’ll have to select the best one to bring along.”
The special Spring Home and Garden event at Lakeside Village on Saturday March 28 and Sunday March 29, will take place between 11am and 4pm.
This free event will see lots of members of the local business community come together to showcase their spring goods.
“With over 20 craft and gift stalls visitors will be able to get gardening advice from our plant and flower stall holders, who’ll be able to advise of the best bulbs to plant and how to look after them to make sure that your garden blooms, to food stalls selling exquisite breads, olives and deli foods, perfect for outdoor eating,” added Cheryl.
Music will be provided by a local Jazz band who will play throughout the weekend and there will be a vintage car display for people to enjoy.
Younger guests will be able to learn circus skills and take part in balloon modelling and face painting.
“It is going to be a jam packed weekend and we are also delighted to be welcoming some feathery guests who will be swooping in.
“Our bird of prey visitors to the village will be around for the weekend, giving people the opportunity to find out more about their habits and characteristics,” said Cheryl.
