Barnsley based window and door manufacturer, Building Product Solutions, has announced the appointment of Richard Ogden as its new glass plant manager.
Currently under construction, the glass plant will bring the entire manufacturing process in house, putting BPS firmly in the driving seat when it comes to quality and turnaround.
Mr Ogden, 42 of Hoyland, has spent his entire career in the window industry, most notably as a fitter for Ford Windows and as manager of the Norvik Windows glass plant for seven years. This experience made him the ideal candidate to lead the new operation at BPS.
He said: “I’m delighted to be part of the BPS team. It’s growing quickly and creating a lot of interest within the industry. I’ve been part of that industry myself since 1995 and have seen lots of technological changes in that time.
“I’m thrilled to be managing a modern glass plant, with state of the art technology. I plan to manage the team using the same traditional principles and values that I feel are important to generate the best quality product on the market.”
Sales director, Lynne Darwin said: “It was essential that we found the right person to manage the glass plant – someone with experience and who would fit into the team and be able to get us off to a flying start. We believe that we have ticked all those boxes with Richard.
“He’s currently familiarising himself with the business and our production facilities. The glass plant is on track for completion by the end of March and then he’ll take charge and drive its success.”
