The Leeds office of national law firm, Gateley has expanded its practice further with the appointment of legal director, Pauline Munro to head the office’s new Regulatory team.
Pauline joins from Pinsent Masons with more than 20 years’ experience of working for clients facing regulatory intervention. She will work closely with the Leeds team to offer her expertise to existing clients and with a remit to grow this new practice area for Gateley in the Yorkshire market.
Specialising in a range of areas including health and safety, trading law and standards, food and product safety, product recall and contentious environmental matters, Pauline has a proven track record having advised clients such as Northern Rail, Dunelm, Certas Energy UK, WM Morrison and William Hill.
Commenting on her appointment, Pauline said: “This is an exciting time to join Gateley. The team has certainly been ‘one to watch’ in the last few years and has achieved significant success as a new entrant into the North East legal market.
“The Leeds office has shown clear ambition through its rapid growth and is already well regarded in the practice areas we have established up here. I’m looking forward to building on that success in my specific area of expertise and working with a great team of people at the same time.”
William Ballmann, corporate recovery partner and head of the Leeds office, commented: “We’ve recently celebrated our third anniversary and what a journey it has been so far as the practice has quadrupled in size.
“We established the office with an initial focus on corporate recovery, restructuring and finance litigation and on the back of success in those areas have been able to make further key appointments. We’ve expanded into other disciplines including corporate, commercial dispute resolution, residential development and now with Pauline joining, regulatory.
“We are well on our way to building the full commercial practice regionally that mirrors that of our national network and it’s a really positive start to the year for all of us.”
Gateley’s Leeds office was a new entrant into the Yorkshire and Humber Experian Corpfin Advisor league tables in 2014 and finished the year in a strong position in the top 10. The team was also ‘Highly Commended’ at the 2014 Yorkshire Legal Awards.
