More than 40 business and organisations are to exhibit their services and products at a marketplace event for disabled people, being held in Harrogate this Spring.
Organised by Disability Action Yorkshire, those already to have confirmed their attendance at the Cairn Hotel on Monday, April 21, include Wiltshire Farm Foods, North Yorkshire Fire Service and Healthwatch North Yorkshire.
In addition to businesses, a number of voluntary sector organisations and public sector bodies have booked stands.
A series of seminars will also be held throughout the day, which is expected to attract disabled people and organisations from across the North of England and beyond.
Disability Action Yorkshire chief executive Jackie Snape said: “Having more than 40 different organisations already confirmed with eight weeks still to go is very pleasing.
“This market place event is specifically designed to showcase a wide range of products and services for disabled people; things that will ultimately make their lives easier.”
Mrs Snape said if the marketplace event proved to be the success she hoped it would, this would then become an important annual event.
She added they were still looking for a headline sponsor, or sponsors, but was confident one would be found in the coming weeks.
