A Sheffield-based prestige car dealership celebrated a major milestone by hosting a special event at their showroom on Meadowhall Road.
Family run-business John Holland, who are current front-of-shirt sponsors of Sheffield United, marked their 40th anniversary by hosting a celebratory evening at their twenty thousand feet showroom.
Sheffield United manager Nigel Clough was on hand to officially open the event and he was joined by Sheffield United players John Brayford, Terry Kennedy, Paul Coutts, Jose Baxter, James Wallace, Matt Done, Louis Reed, Che Adams and coach Chris Morgan.
Coun Talib Hussain, Deputy Lord Mayor, was also in attendance.
The evening saw a speech from owner Mark Holland, who took sole charge of the business following his father John’s retirement in 2011.
He said: “It gives us great pride to look back on the achievements of John Holland since our establishment in 1975.
“The evening was a wonderful way to mark our 40th year and at the same time bring together people from the Sheffield City Region. I’d like to thank everyone who attended and joined us in celebrating this major milestone.”
Nigel Clough, manager of Sheffield United, presented a plaque on behalf of the Club to commemorate John Holland’s 40th anniversary.
He said: “I’m delighted to have been a part of this special occasion to celebrate 40 years of this great Sheffield family business.
“It’s wonderful for us to have John Holland on our Sheffield United shirts as we fight for promotion to the Championship and on behalf of the Club we congratulate them on this wonderful achievement of 40 years in business.”
A £1,000 cheque was presented to the Children’s Hospital Charity with both John Holland and Cardiff-based Moto Novo Finance donating £500 each.
Mark Holland said: “The Children’s Hospital Charity is such a worthy cause and we’re delighted to be supporting them.
“It gives me great pleasure to donate to the charity’s Make It Better campaign and we will continue to support them in any way possible as it’s important to us that we give something back to the community.”
The Charity’s Make it Better appeal aims to raise £10m in total by 2016 with a brand new wing featuring plenty of private rooms with parent beds, ample parking, a secure outdoor space and a giant play tower amongst the developments planned.
Tchad Western, corporate fundraiser for the Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “I’d like to thank both John Holland and Moto Novo Finance for their fundraising efforts.
“Fundraising from companies and individuals makes a huge difference, not just to children in our region but children all over the world and it will have a lasting remit for generations to come as we continue our aim of changing the way the NHS looks after children.”
John Holland claimed one of the motoring industry’s biggest national awards when they were named 2014/15 Dealers’ Dealer of the Year at the Car Dealer Magazine Used Car Awards.
The company’s showroom, which sees around 150 quality, luxury and prestige vehicles a month, has recently seen an extensive refurbishment including a new reception area, and work is currently underway on a state-of-the-art workshop and MOT and servicing department.
