Harrogate charity says cheers for beer festival donation

A Harrogate charity has said “cheers” to the organisers of an annual beer festival.

Jackie Snape, the chief executive of Disability Action Yorkshire, was paying tribute to Harrogate & District Roundtable for the £2,650 donation they received as part of the proceeds of last year’s highly successful fundraising event.

Mrs Snape said: “We are very grateful to the Roundtable for choosing us as one of the beneficiaries of their yearly beer festival.

“We rely on the goodwill and support of individuals, businesses and organisations such as The Roundtable, which enable us to provide our services to disabled people within the Harrogate District and beyond.

“On behalf of all those who have benefited directly from the beer festival over the last 14 years, I’d like to thank Harrogate & District Roundtable for their generosity and their hard work in staging this annual event.”

Harrogate & District Roundtable beer festival organising committee member Craig Pinches said: “Each year our members put forward and consider charitable requests and from these a number are chosen to benefit from the event.

“Our beer festival has become one of the most looked-forward to events on Harrogate’s calendar, and one that attracts thousands to it each year.

“Whilst it is hard work, it is incredibly enjoyable and, knowing that it is supporting a host of local charities, this is reward in itself.”
