A marketplace event for disabled people being held in Harrogate next Tuesday is a “sell out”!
Disability Action Yorkshire, which is staging the event at the town’s Cairn Hotel from 2pm, has not only sold all the exhibition stands, it has so signed up a headline sponsor – Towergate Insurance.
More than 40 business and organisations – including Wiltshire Farm Foods, North Yorkshire Fire Service and Healthwatch North Yorkshire – will be exhibiting their services and products, which are designed to make the lives of disabled people easier. A series of seminars will also be held throughout the day.
Disability Action Yorkshire chief executive Jackie Snape said: “When we set about planning our marketplace event we hoped it would prove appealing to businesses and organisations involved in the disabled sector – and I’m delighted to say it has!
“I’m also delighted to announce Towergate Insurance as our headline sponsor, which is tremendous news and I’m incredibly grateful to them for their support.
“There has been a great deal of interest in this event from disabled groups and individuals from across the north of England, and we are expecting a good turnout.
“With more than 40 stands, representatives from voluntary sector organisations and public sector bodies, a series of seminars – and the added attraction of Stray FM’s Alex Cann performing the opening ceremony – there will be plenty for visitors to do and see.”
