Fourteen new faces joined the Gauntlet Group’s family of Appointed Representatives in the first quarter of 2015, helping to make the network one of the fastest growing in the insurance industry.
The new Appointed Representatives span an area stretching from Hamilton in Scotland, to Staplecross in East Sussex and from Liverpool in the west, to Hexham in the east.
They are located in 11 different counties, plus London, and join an existing AR network comprising Appointed Representatives in locations as far-flung as Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Southend-on-Sea.
The rapid growth that Gauntlet Group’s network is enjoying in its 20th anniversary year, has led to the appointment of a new Appointed Representative manager, Haley Thomas, who has joined Leeds-based Gauntlet Group from Broker2Broker Underwriting.
Haley is responsible for day-to-day management and liaison with the network, as well as acting as the interface between the network and Gauntlet’s back office team, which handles non-core responsibilities for new ARs, including marketing, claims handling and IT support.
The increase in marketing support required by the AR network has also led to the appointment of an in-house marketing manager at Gauntlet Group, for the first time.
Edward Gent has joined Gauntlet from the Medical Protection Society and is now the ARs’ point of contact for website support and provision and other marketing services undertaken on their behalf.
Strategic direction of the network comes from managing director, Roger Gaunt, and director, Paul Coates, while enquiries about becoming an AR continue to be handled by Nigel Law.

“We have now bought new premises, with a view to recruiting more members of our team at head office, so that we can continue to grow our network and deliver the same level of high quality support to our Appointed Representatives that all have enjoyed thus far.
“At the same time, we have recruited a new haulage team and expanded in other areas, all of which demonstrates that Gauntlet Group has a sound and strategic business model that is working in line with our vision.
“We are set for more growth over the next few years and our AR network will span yet more locations in Britain very soon.”
