Sheffield’s second new-look Netto store has opened its doors on Queen’s Road, following the successful launch of its Wadsley Bridge store in November last year.
The 10,000 sq ft store combines the best of Netto’s low-price discount model with a unique Scandinavian twist, and continues the firm’s trial to open 15 stores over the next year in a joint venture between Sainsbury’s and Netto’s parent company, Dansk Supermarked.
Celebrating its grand opening from 8am today, the Queen’s Road store has 25 new employees from the local area and boasts a clean, fresh design based on the latest Netto stores in Denmark and proven to be a success in recent store openings across Yorkshire.
Morten Möberg Nielsen, managing director of Netto UK, said: “Since announcing our re-launch in November 2014, Netto has gone from strength to strength.
“Our store in Wadsley Bridge has been a particular success so we’re really pleased to be opening a second store just south of the city. It’s a really exciting time for the company as we continue to push ahead with our growth strategy with another nine stores set to open in the next six months.”
