Huddersfield accountants takes to the water in aid of cancer charity

Accountants from Huddersfield took to the water for the 7th Annual Dragon Boat Challenge, raising hundreds of pounds for charity.

Nick Brook, who runs TaxAssist Accountants in Huddersfield, was joined by two of his staff members, Kerri Carter and Ceri Grover for the annual boat race which helped raise over £550 for the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust, the UK’s only charity to fund medical research specifically for teenagers affected by cancer.

The 7th Annual Dragon Boat Challenge, organised by the Rotary Clubs of Huddersfield and Wakefield Chantry, saw teams of up to 20 people take on a 250 metre race course on the Pugneys Country Park Lake.

The group from TaxAssist Accountants helped the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust team row into third place.

Nick said: “As a trustee of the charity, I am really keen to help them raise vital funds any way that I can. We all had a great day at Dragon Boat Challenge and were very proud to come third out of 36 boats.

“With the help of generous donations from family, friends and clients we are thrilled that our office has raised £550.”
