A loyal customer of more than 40 years was chosen to officially launch the new branch of a Horsforth opticians.
Pat Spencer performed the honours at Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care on Town Street, and was presented with flowers and gift vouchers as a thank you.
Pat, who is president of Horsforth WI and lives locally, said: “It was a lovely surprise to be asked to open the branch. I have always had good service here and I am loyal to people who give me good service.
“Scrivens also picked up that I had a cataract and arranged the hospital appointment for me. And after that I had to have a new prescription and they were very good.”
Pat, 68, has worn glasses since she was 12. She tends to buy a new pair every year and regularly calls in at the branch to see the latest designs.
Branch manager Paul Robinson said: “Pat has entrusted her eye care to us for a long time and we thought it would be fitting if she launched our new premises.”
The branch has moved to bigger, more accessible premises on Town Street and now boasts new sight test rooms with the latest digital eye examination equipment. A full range of hearing care services is also provided.
