Businesses from across Yorkshire have been skilfully combining networking, team building and alternative sport.
Rotherham engineering design firm Eadon Consulting lined up against 3D printing company Materialise UK, property management and consultancy firm, Creative Space Management, and ‘Barnsley Superstars’, a team made up of representatives from different Barnsley businesses, in a dodgeball tournament at the English Institute of Sport, Sheffield.
The event was organised by Team Activ+, an organisation which provides inspiring and challenging events with a fun twist.
Hitachi Invoice Capital completed the quintet of teams and won the tournament.
Darren Padgett, founder of Barnsley-based Team Activ+, said: “The tournament was excellent fun and tailored specifically to suit the businesses taking part.
“We know that standard sports don’t flick everyone’s switch, so we include activities like dodgeball, geocaching and office olympics in our programmes.”
Team Activ+ is based on the premise that getting active has benefits above and beyond individual health and wellbeing.
“Our personalised programme of events helps build successful corporate environments,” added Darren.
“They provide opportunities for healthy, organised, competitive activity but also encourage collaborative team working environments. They’re great for networking and meeting like-minded businesses.”
More Team Activ+ events are planned this summer. In August corporate rounders tournaments take place in Sheffield on 18 and Leeds on 20. In September, kwik cricket tournaments are taking place in Leeds & Sheffield.
