A Rotherham based marquee and gazebo manufacturer has expanded its marketing department with the appointment of a new apprentice after phenomenal growth.
Shannon Kelly, 18, from Thurnscoe, has joined Manvers based Gala Tent on a one year business administration apprenticeship run by training provider Create Skills Ltd.
Shannon, a former pupil of Wath Sixth Form College, applied for the business administration apprenticeship to develop her business skills and give her the foundations she needs to launch her career.
Over the past 12 months Gala Tent has seen a sharp increase in sales and a whopping 20 per cent growth in business. The company has expanded internationally, securing eleven international distributors in a year.
Gala Tent’s printing department has also developed into its own independent business, Gala Graphics. Shannon’s role will allow the Gala Tent marketing department to support and implement Gala Graphics marketing plan.
Shannon said: “It’s great to be able to study whilst working as I will gain valuable work experience whilst still gaining further qualifications.
“Everyone at Gala Tent has made me feel really welcome and I’ve really enjoyed the job so far, hopefully I’ll be able to make an impact in my role.”
Gala Tent and Gala Graphics managing director Jason Mace said: “The past 12 months has been an incredibly busy period for Gala Tent, we have managed to expand the brand internationally and extend our printing services.
“We decided to employ an apprentice to support our marketing team, not only because it’s beneficial for our business but because it’s important to give something back and give young people the opportunity to get a foot on the career ladder.”
