Deborah Services Limited picks up another ROSPA award

Yorkshire based Deborah Services Limited (DSL) has been recognised again for its commitment to occupational health and safety with the achievement of the Gold President’s Award, granted from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

This is the eleventh time DSL – leaders in multi-disciplinary solutions – has picked up a RoSPA President’s Award. The award will be presented at one of the three ceremonies to be held this year across England and Scotland.

The RoSPA award scheme is one of the largest and longest-running of its kind, recognising an organisation’s commitment to preventing accident and ill health at work. Companies are recognised for stringent health and safety management systems, best practice, leadership and workplace involvement across the UK and overseas.

Chris Foulkes, managing director of Deborah Services Limited’s Industrial Services Division, said: “Across the sectors in which we operate, health and safety is paramount especially when you consider the risks involved in working on behalf of blue chips in the petrochemical and nuclear industries.

“From the equipment provided by our hire and sales division to decommissioning nuclear power plants, all team members receive meticulous, practical and theory-based health and safety training.  Our policy is for zero harm across the company.

“This award demonstrates our continued commitment to keeping everyone safe – something I take a personal pride in.”

Sal Lack, SHEQ director at Deborah Services Limited, said, “Instilling stringent working practice to ensure the welfare of every team member – from DSL’s, our client’s or our contractor’s team – is paramount.

“It’s our integrated SHEQ (safety, health, environment, and quality) management system which means all of our employees are ‘on the same page’ in terms of safety at work.

“Our policy for zero harm means embedding gold-standard H&S working practice across the whole team.  Sounds easy but it gets complex when many of your workforce are often operating in the field and ‘off grid’.

“This RoSPA achievement belongs to the team who have earned it with their unswerving commitment to working safely despite relentless challenges.”

All organisations and industries are eligible for RoSPA’s prestigious President’s award which assesses both accident reports and management styles.
