An event expert has stepped up to the crease to promote a top cricket and rugby venue to corporate clients.
Sophie Richardson, from Otley, has been appointed sales and events co-ordinator for Headingley Experience, which manages conferences and events at the Headingley Carnegie Stadium, Leeds.
In her new role, Sophie will be tasked with promoting the stadium, which is home to Leeds Rhinos Rugby Club and Yorkshire County Cricket Club, to corporate clients and event organisers looking for a unique place in which to hold a conference or event.
Along with a number of purpose-built conference and meeting rooms, the Headingley Carnegie stadium is the only one in the country to offer a suite with views of two international grounds.
Sophie’s responsibilities will include generating sales of conference and dinner packages, building and managing relationships with key clients and co-ordinating sales initiatives and social and corporate events.
Sopie said: “I really enjoy organising events from concept to completion,» she said. «And the variety of conferences, dinners and special events with which I’ve already been involved since joining the Headingley Experience, has been fantastic.
“The team has been very welcoming and I am looking forward to my future here at the stadium.”
Sophie joins the Headingley Experience having spent several years working in various aspects of the hospitality sector after gaining a degree in Managing Cultural and Major Events from Leeds Metropolitan University.
Jacqui Page, sales manager at the Headingley Experience, said: “We are delighted to welcome Sophie and I know her enthusiasm and expertise will be real assets to the team.”
