Sheffield logistics firm to speak at launch of new tool

The managing director of a leading Sheffield-based logistics firm will deliver a talk at the launch of an innovative Supply Chain Environmental Analysis Tool (SCEnAT+) in London.

DBL Logistics’ David Clarkson is a guest speaker the SCEnAT+ launch which is being held at Microsoft UK London on September 24.

SCEnAT+ is an online tool that enables companies to map their supply chains and identify CO2 emission reduction opportunities.

DBL Logistics worked closely with the Advanced Resource Efficiency Centre, providing data to Professor Lenny Koh of the Management School at the University of Sheffield, who led on the development of the tool.

David Clarkson, who completes DBL Logistics’ company initials along with that of his Father Bert and late Mother Linda, will speak at the event about the benefits of SCEnAT+ and the positive impact it can have on decreasing environmental impact.

David said: “It is a huge honour to be invited as a guest speaker to the launch of the innovative SCEnAT+ tool.

“I am proud to say that DBL Logistics played a part in the tool’s development and for any companies involved the tool offers a unique opportunity to gain a new perspective of their supply chain and identify opportunities for both carbon and financial savings.”

DBL Logistics is a founding member depot of the UPN (United Pallet Network), which has more than 75 depots throughout the UK and collects and delivers freight from across 26 countries in Europe.

The firm currently warehouse and distribute more than 120,000 pallets of goods across South Yorkshire and the North Midlands each year and are the current back-of-shirt sponsors of Sheffield United FC.
