Card Factory, Office and Kiko Milano to open new stores in Bradford

Three new retailers have announced plans to open stores in The Broadway, which will open in Bradford in November.

Office, Kiko Milano and Card Factory have confirmed they will join a lineup including Debenhams, Marks & Spencer, H&M, Next, Footasylum, New Look, Topshop/Topman, Taco Bell and Patisserie Valerie.

Office, one of Europe’s top fashion footwear retailers, will come to Bradford for the first time by opening a store in The Broadway.

They will be joined by Card Factory, a national cards and gifts specialist which will open a second store in Bradford by taking a store in The Broadway and Kiko Milano, a leading Italian retailer of cosmetics, make-up and skin care products, which is taking a unit.

The Broadway, which is due to open on Thursday 5 November, will create over 2,500 jobs in Bradford and generate a 40% increase in city centre footfall.

Keith Mabbett, director of Leasing at Westfield, said: “Signing these three great retailers means The Broadway is now well over 80 per cent let, highlighting the widespread confidence among leading retailers in both the development and Bradford as a fantastic city to invest.

“With just over two months to go before The Broadway opens, our leasing campaign has fantastic momentum, and I’m delighted that we’ll be announcing many more names in the coming weeks.”

Kristi Eames, Office commercial director, said: “Bradford is one of the fastest growing cities in the UK, and we felt that the opening of The Broadway marked the perfect opportunity to come to the city for the first time.

“We’re confident our new store will cater to the diverse community in Bradford and we’re really looking forward to welcoming shoppers through our doors.”

Tim Lloyd from Card Factory said: “We’ve been really impressed with how The Broadway is shaping up and it looks set to be a real asset to the city.

“We’re excited about opening a second store in Bradford and offering our customers another great place to buy our specialist cards and gifts.”

A Kiko Milano spokesperson said: “We believe The Broadway will have an absolutely fantastic impact on shopping in Bradford. We’re thrilled to be coming to the city as part of The Broadway, and we can’t wait for shoppers to sample our great range of cosmetics, make-up and skin care products from Thursday 5 November.”

Coun David Green, leader of Bradford Council, said: “Bradford city centre is undergoing the biggest transformation of any city in the UK so it’s no surprise more and more retailers are taking space in the Broadway Shopping Centre.

“It won’t be long now until November 5 when the Centre opens and there’s a real feel good factor in the city centre as people look forward to all the new shops, restaurants and cafes they will be able to enjoy.”

Together with Card Factory, Office and Kiko Milano, three kiosk operators have announced they will be opening in The Broadway. iBrow and Beauty will be joined by Mooboo, the bubble tea specialist and The Case Tailors, a mobile phone accessory retailer.
