Feeling inspired for Saint Michael’s at CCF

The team at Harrogate accountancy practice CCF is throwing itself wholeheartedly into fundraising for Saint Michael’s Hospice as part of the charity’s 2015 You’re Inspired initiative.

The Victoria Avenue-based company’s programme of events kicks off at 8pm on Tuesday, October 13 with a pub quiz and raffle at The Muckles, West Park. Open to teams or individuals, entry is £5 per person and includes a free chilli con carne supper. Pre-booking is recommended and anyone who would like to take part should call CCF on 01423 567499 or email events@ccfaccountancy.co.uk.

Raffle prizes so far include goodies from Bettys & Taylors of Harrogate, gym membership, person trainer sessions, a range of sweet treats and more.

PA Emily Wood has also compiled a special calendar featuring healthy recipes contributed by clients and local organisations. These include gooey chocolate puddings by Steve Bannister of Conditioned Training and a delicious lemon cake from Bulmers Butchers.

The calendar costs £10 per copy and is available from CCF’s offices on Victoria Avenue, Bulmers Butchers on Westmoreland Street and the Fitness Rooms at the White Hart Hotel, all in Harrogate.

CCF’s fundraising efforts will culminate on Halloween, October 31, when founder and manager Teresa Bowe will take part in a 100k bike ride, accompanied by physiotherapist Gill Arnett, solicitor Mark Fagan and Jet2 pilot Richard Chadwick. Setting off from the CCF offices, the group will follow a hilly route around the district that takes in Knaresborough, Fountains Abbey, Pateley Bridge, Norwood and Leathley.

Teresa, who hopes to raise £1,500 through the bike ride alone, said: “There’s no doubt this will be tough – the idea of You’re Inspired is that teams take a £100 investment and turn it into the largest amount of money possible to help local people living with terminal illness and bereavement.

“The bike ride will be a particular challenge but I’m training hard and I’m confident I’ll succeed. I’d be letting Saint Michael’s Hospice down if I didn’t, and that won’t happen! I’d very much appreciate support from as many people as possible and if anyone would like to help me reach my target, please visit my Just Giving page at www.justgiving.com/ccf100k/.”

She added: “Taking part in You’re Inspired is a win-win for businesses like mine. As well as knowing we’re helping a thoroughly deserving local charity, it gives us the opportunity to work together as a team outside the office, which strengthens our day-to-day skills and relationships.”
