Hotel Ibis Style de Caudan

Ibis Styles has opened a new hotel in Barnsley.

With a design scheme inspired by the town’s mining heritage, guests will also discover the town’s claims to the lesser-known glass trade. Rustic metals sit alongside delicate rainbows of glasswork and are a nod to the creativity and craftsmanship which has been passed down through generations.

Ibis Styles is the growing boutique budget brand from the ibis family. Its focus on uniquely designed hotels, inspired by their locality, means guests can experience all the fun and quirks of a boutique property, with the quality assurances of a large and well-established hotel brand.

While ibis budget and ibis Hotel offer standardised features, fixtures and fittings, the ibis Styles brand enjoys greater flexibility, with each hotel incorporating its own distinct look and feel, with a great an ‘all-inclusive’ offer, all at a great price.

Inge Van Ooteghem, SVP operations economy and budget hotels, said: “The new ibis Styles Barnsley is a hotel with heritage at its heart. The town has a fascinating history and its story can be discovered by guests during their stay, from the iron-worked furniture to the meticulously crafted glasswork.

“With ibis Styles, guests get the experience of staying in a boutique hotel – individual in its design and personality – without the price tag. We’re very much looking forward to seeing how the quirky property will be embraced by our leisure and business guests”.

Simple, stark metal structures provide the framework for the ibis Styles Barnsley hotel, featuring everywhere from the furnishings to the lighting rigged overhead.

A rich colour scheme of oranges and yellows in the reception and lounge is accented by walls made up entirely of glass jars. Bold, monochrome murals provide a tribute to local workers of the past, and the theme continues in the bedrooms, with design features including glass jar lamps and bottle silhouettes.
