Caepenters Arms is editor’s choice

The multi award winning Carpenters Arms at Felixkirk has been included in the top ten “Editor’s Choice” discoveries of the year in the latest Good Hotel Guide.

Regarded as the bible of the industry, the Good Hotel Guide is the leading independent guide to hotels in Great Britain and Ireland. Inclusion is entirely based on merit as the guide is written for those seeking impartial advice on finding a good place to stay.

Guide inspectors were impressed by the inn with rooms in the Domesday village of Felixkirk near Thirsk. Inspectors commented: “Outstanding: the bedrooms are stunning and well thought out; the cooking highlighted the freshest of ingredients.”

Michael Ibbotson, managing director of Provenance Inns,

said: “We’re delighted to have received this independent national recognition for our five star bedroom facilities to add to our burgeoning collection of awards.”

Earlier this year, Provenance Inns group was awarded Pub Group of the Year 2015 by the Good Pub Guide, Britain’s bestselling travel guide.  The Carpenters Arms has previously been voted as Yorkshire’s Favourite Pub by Welcome to Yorkshire.

Other awards include Best Freehouse in Britain in The Publican’s Morning Advertiser Great British Pub Awards and Restaurant of the Year at the Flavours of Herriot Country Awards.

Provenance Inns’ newest venture, the contemporary 25 bedroom West Park hotel overlooking the Stray in Harrogate, recently celebrated its first anniversary with the Best Newcomer award at the 2015 Harrogate Hospitality & Tourism Awards.
