Barnsley-based PR company toasts successful year

A Barnsley-based PR company is expanding after client gains have increased its turnover by 25 per cent in 2015.

Capital B Media, based in Penistone, is in the process of recruiting a new PR account manager due to an increased workload.

Set up in 2006 by former BBC journalist Kate Betts, the company is based at Bullhouse Mill near Penistone, and works for clients across South Yorkshire and beyond.

It has secured Acorn Brewery, Gibson Booth accountants, Raleys solicitors, IT Desk and Peoplesafe safety at work experts as PR clients in 2015.

And the company has gained new contracts to deliver media training to national and international clients including Gleeds, Muse Developments, Churchill China, the Care Quality Commission and the University of Wolverhampton.

Capital B Media also continues to work behind the scenes to minimise negative coverage for clients in the public, private and third sector.

Capital B Media director Kate Betts said: “This has been a great year for us, and we’re hoping to continue growing and expanding in 2016.

“We moved into a bigger office in the spring and we’re already thinking about moving again, as we’re starting to fill up our new offices already.”

The company currently has a team of 12 staff and associates. As well as offering traditional PR services and media training, the company also has a multimedia side, offering social media, photography and video production services.
