Faster internet for Batley businesses

Companies on a Kirklees business park are benefitting from faster internet connections following a major upgrade.

Business communications specialist NGC Networks has installed a gigabit fibre leased line at Batley Business Park, which is delivering high speed internet connections for several resident companies.

Wakefield-based NGC specialises in implementing telecommunications and internet connectivity solutions that boost business efficiency.

Among the companies benefitting from the upgraded internet connection is Caltech IT Ltd, a customer relationship management (CRM) software consultancy. Managing director Phil Callaghan said: “Having an internet connection that can be relied upon is really important to us as a company. We need to upload and download large files on a regular basis.

“Before we installed the leased line our bandwidth was occasionally up to 12mbs but at other times it fell away to less than 1mbs. This was highly frustrating. Since the new service has been installed there have been no issues with the speed.

“The service we have received has been good – it was installed quickly and without any fuss or bother.”

Andy Brown of Pace IT Systems had NGC Networks recommended to him by Dave Butler, head of IT for Puma UK in Batley. Andy said: “As an internet-based business providing e-commerce websites it is vital that we have a fast and reliable internet connection throughout the whole day.

“We signed up for a leased line product with NGC and from the first time we met they have been helpful, informative and installed on time with no problems.  I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone to use NGC for their network needs.”

Yvonne Walsh, senior business centre manager with Kirklees Council, said: “Our business parks are all about supporting business in the Kirklees district. NGC’s work on our Batley park is proving really beneficial to companies which need superfast internet connections to operate well as a business and deliver services to their customers.”
