Lydgate Lodge care home in Batley, operated by Ideal Carehomes, is hosting a Christmas festive feast on Friday for local older people who may be lonely or isolated and perhaps not have any family to visit at this special time of year.
Lydgate Lodge, which prides itself on being an integral part of the local community, is inviting older people to join them for a festive feast and to participate in various activities with the residents and staff at the home.
Home manager Beverley Hanson said: “At Lydgate Lodge, we are always looking at ways to aid and integrate with the local community. We feel that providing a festive afternoon for people who may otherwise be lonely at Christmas would be a great benefit, giving them much needed company and joy during the festive period.
“Our residents thoroughly enjoy meeting new people and hosting events in their home so it will be a great day for everyone!”
As well as the nibbles and mince pies, the home will also provide the opportunity for visitors to participate with the residents in various activities and there will also be a Christmas concert. There will be no charge for local people to attend, but places are strictly limited.
