IoD opens entries for Director of the Year Awards

The Institute of Directors has launched its search for the top directors in Yorkshire and the North East.

The prestigious Director of the Year Awards will recognise outstanding leadership in the boardroom across nine categories. The winners will be revealed at a gala dinner at Leeds Civic Hall on 16 June 2016.

Natalie Sykes, regional director of the IoD in Yorkshire and the North East, said: “We’re looking for applications from business leaders of all ages from both public and private sector organisations.

“Plans are already underway for a memorable awards evening in Leeds and I’d urge people to nominate now. As an added incentive, our regional award winners will progress to the UK finals in London.”

The categories are:

Yorkshire and the Humber

  • Director of the Year (Large company)
  • Director of the Year (Small to Medium Company)
  • Young Director of the Year
  • International Director of the Year
  • Public/Third Sector Director of the Year

North East

  • Director of the Year (Small to Medium Company)
  • Young Director of the Year

Joint Yorkshire and the Humber and North East

  • Non-Executive Director of the Year
  • Director of the Year (Mid-Market Company)

This year’s winners could follow in the footsteps of Dan Robinson, of Gus Robinson Developments, and Stewart McNicholl, of AMS Asbestos Management Services, who went on to triumph at the national awards.
