Businesses invited to showcase at MIPIM 2016

Sponsors are signing up to support Sheffield City Region, the public-private sector partnership that promotes investment into the area, as it gets ready to showcase key development sites to thousands of global decision-makers in the property market next March.

MIPIM Cannes is an annual event that attracts 20,000 of the market’s most influential decision-makers, and is an unrivalled opportunity to develop relationships that are crucial to securing business growth and jobs.

Iain Thomson, partnerships manager at Harworth Estates, one of the organisations already backing the Sheffield City Region presence at MIPIM 2016, said: “We are delighted to continue our longstanding support of Sheffield City Region.

“We are a significant landowner across the North of England and recognise the importance that investment in our region can play to support our economic growth. Sponsoring the Sheffield City Region campaign has been beneficial for us in the past and we look forward to being part of the impressive series of events that are being put together for March 2016.”

Now other interested organisations are being urged to find out how they can be involved and capitalise on this opportunity.

Martin McKervey, partner at international law firm, Nabarro, and chair of the Sheffield City Region LEP Property and Construction Group, said: “MIPIM is hugely important to Sheffield City Region’s growth agenda. We need to be making the case to global investors why Sheffield City Region is the right location for them to invest.

“MIPIM is the optimum forum for those conversations between the global investment community and our City Region. We have a good track record in this regard, but we need to take it to a new level in 2016.  Nabarro is committed to supporting the Sheffield City Region.”
