Yorkshire law firm LCF Law has appointed Jo Barnes as a partner.
Based at the firm’s Leeds office, Jo specialises in both corporate insolvency, acting for liquidators and administrators, and personal insolvency, acting for individuals and trustees.
She also deals with individual voluntary arrangements (IVA’s) and company voluntary arrangements (CVA’s), winding up petitions and statutory demands.
Jo qualified as a solicitor in 2003 and joins LCF Law from Carrick Read Insolvency. She also has extensive litigation experience.
LCF Law’s head of disputes Charles Abraham said: “We’re delighted to welcome Jo to our disputes team. She brings a wealth of experience in the insolvency sector which is the perfect fit for our business recovery and insolvency services.
“Our experienced team of 13 lawyers regularly work with individuals, businesses, insolvency practitioners, turnaround professionals, banks, lenders and stakeholders to find solutions to financial problems and Jo will represent both claimants and defendants for the firm.”
Jo said: “Although both corporate and personal insolvency rates are falling since the last recession, there will always be businesses facing financial difficulties due to any number of reasons.
“The risk of interest rate rises will also have an impact on both corporate and personal insolvency rates and it’s important that businesses and individuals get first-rate professional advice, as early as possible, which is something LCF Law is renowned for in the industry.”
