Prestigious contract win for South Yorkshire agency

UTC Leeds has appointed South Yorkshire based agency Cream to provide PR support for the launch phase of the new, state-of-the-art educational establishment.

Due to open in September 2016 in the heart of a fast-growing education hub off Hunslet Road, UTC Leeds will offer students a high quality education focused on Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing.

UTC Leeds is sponsored by The University of Leeds, major manufacturers including Agfa Graphics, Siemens and Unilever and business organisations such as the EEF and West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce.

Led by principal, Mark Kennedy, the UTC’s key stakeholders were keen to maximise the opportunity to attract applications for the first intake.

Cream was chosen as PR partner because of its unique combination of experience in both the education and manufacturing sectors and also its outstanding regional and trade contacts. The agency will provide support through targeted PR campaigns, profile building and fostering links between businesses, industry bodies and the school.

Mark Kennedy said: “We needed a PR agency which fully understands the ethos of the school and is able to communicate effectivity with a variety of audiences. Cream’s experience and track record is outstanding and we’re confident that the team will bring our key messages to life.”

Cream’s director, Elizabeth Hudson, said: “UTC Leeds is an ideal project for us and it complements our existing portfolio perfectly. It allows us to pool our knowledge and contacts across a number of sectors to build awareness and goodwill for the school.”

Cream works across a range of sectors, including manufacturing, visitor attractions, financial, digital and lifestyle sectors to help businesses increase profile, strengthen reputation and add brand value.
