Following the success of the inaugural “Be Inspired” Yorkshire Ladies Links Conference, founder Melanie Malcolm has announced its return this year on International Women’s Day (March 8).
The free full day event, which, last year welcomed over 800 women from all over the county, will be hosted by journalist and business mentor, Christa Ackroyd and will open its doors to new and returning exhibitors as well as a line up of Yorkshire’s highly regarded, award-winning motivational speakers, including Richard McCann, Heather Clark, Tina Boden, Nina Morton-Brook and Ness Knight.
Due to the positive feedback from exhibitors last year, over 50 per cent are returning to the event in March. The conference will also welcome Lloyds Bank Commercial Finance as its main sponsor and Variety the Children’s Charity as its charity partner as well as a number of national companies including NFU Mutual and Costco.
Like last year, well-known Yorkshire companies including Leeds United, Bettys and Rudding Park will also be exhibiting alongside some of the regions most exciting and innovative start-up businesses set to launch unique products and services at the conference.
In addition, visitors will also be given the chance to get involved in free, live business workshops, ranging from finance and business coaching, to marketing and PR, which aims to add a new dimension to the full day event.
Host Christa Ackroyd said: “The path to true equality and fulfillment in the workplace for women is a journey which has to be shared by both genders if more and more women are to take their rightful place in senior management positions at large companies.
“The fact is that many women decide instead to start their own companies to achieve this and welcome the opportunity to share experiences with others in the same position.
“This event is invaluable and as far away from the dull world of corporate networking as you can imagine. It offers the chance for real interaction with like-minded people and a series of hands on workshops to make a real difference to business in Yorkshire. The fact that it is free is an incredible testament to Yorkshire Ladies Links.”
Founder of Yorkshire Ladies Links Melanie Malcolm said, “I feel extremely passionate about inspiring women in business which is why we now host two free, conferences each year, ‘Be Inspired’ on International Women’s Day and The Yorkshire Business Festival which takes place on 20 September in South Yorkshire.
“For this year’s ‘Be Inspired’ conference we’ve listened to what people want from a full day event and we’ve incorporated new initiatives, such as the live business workshops to support women in business.
“We’re so thankful to all of the speakers who we know will deliver engaging and thought-provoking talks to motivate and inspire the delegates on the day.
“We’ve already had over 1,000 registrations to the event and I can’t wait to welcome our sponsors, exhibitors and visitors to the event in March.”
