Award-winning wellbeing organisation, Team Activ, has shown South Yorkshire why it’s the best in the business by winning the South Yorkshire Workplace Games last week.
The event, run by South Yorkshire Sport and hosted by the English Institute of Sport saw teams of colleagues from all over the region compete in a series of games including mixed netball, sitting volleyball, new age kurling, duathlon and rounders.
Team Activ was in great company with Dearne ALC, Santander, Sheffield Hallam, ITM Power, Sheffield City Council and Sheffield Wednesday also entering teams. The event is an excellent way for workplaces to encourage positive team building and active lifestyles, both of which are core to Team Activ’s ethos.
Team Activ runs bespoke corporate wellbeing and teambuilding events and programmes, as well as community events to promote fun, active play. These were a natural progression from its original work with Yorkshire schools to provide extra-curricular sport.
Claire Warwick, business development manager at Team Activ, said: “The South Yorkshire Workplace Games are right up our street and we’re keen to practice what we preach, so we entered our team.
“We fell short of the minimum female requirement and so had points deducted, meaning it was even more of an achievement to win.
“We really enjoyed the event, playing the games and meeting the other teams. We definitely gelled more as a team I’d advise any business thinking of entering the next event to go for it – it’s a chance to socialise outside of the workplace and engage your team in healthy competition.”
