East Hull Academy Rugby League Club is fired up for even greater success thanks to Northallerton heating and plumbing specialist HCS Mechanical Services sponsoring its new home strip.
The blue and white dugout and kit package has seen the Rosemead Street club, which is currently at the top end of the Hull Premier League, decked out in a £1,350 new home strip comprising shirts, shorts and socks.
The club enjoys a strong reputation under the leadership and commitment of chairman Stuart Sawyers who started there as a scrum-half in 1975, before becoming a professional for Hull FC, playing with Ellery Hanley among many iconic figures.
HCS Mechanical Services became involved with the club through supply partner Lee Hunter from Northside Truck & Van in Hull, who is a committee member of the club.
Lee said: “As a business we wanted to recognise and support Stuart’s tremendous contribution. He has supported it through good and bad times since the 1970s and was the catalyst for its resurrection in 2014.
“Thanks to Stuart, East Hull has a vibrant youth team set-up and our senior players are often poached by professional clubs. We also want to thank HCS for their valuable contribution which is very much appreciated.”
Richard Clarke, MD of HCS Mechanical Services which champions putting something back into its local communities, said: “The club’s history is a great testimony of how resilience and determination pays off and it is tremendous to see it going from strength to strength and to play a role in supporting its success.”
